As Christmas is fast approaching, we just wanted to make you aware as our local District and Parish Councillors about the arrangements for Christmas bin collections, and how to get hold of online calendars, should any residents ask.The bank holidays do make a difference to our bin collections, as they do every year. See below a very brief guide to the Christmas bin collections this year, based on the usual collection days.
- If your bin is due to be collected on THURSDAY 25 December 2025 (Christmas Day) ➡️ this will be collected on Saturday 20 December 2025
- If your bin is due to be collected on FRIDAY 26 December (Boxing Day) ➡️ this will be collected on Saturday 27 December 2025
- If your bin is due to be collected on THURSDAY 1 January 2026 (New Year's Day) ➡️ this will be collected on Saturday 3 January 2026
At any time of the year, if residents are not sure which bin to put out, they can always check bin collection dates, either on their mySouth Derbyshire account, or online - just click on the link below, and pop your postcode into the search bar. The bin calendars for your area are also available to download on the same website page, once you've searched.
